2.7T colors and stamped steel suspension pieces
Has anyone seen the 2.7 in Tornado red, and what is your opinion? Other than silver or white I think Audi's color selection is terrible. Not sure how a solid red would look on this type of car. BTW I am well aware that the materials that are used when designing a suspension is not the only factor . Geometry, spring rates, damping system(ie: struts, shocks, etc) as well as sprung and unsprung weight(this is one area where materials come into play) and other design criteria. The use of stamped steel a-arms in a car like this seems like corner cutting to me.This is regarding my post below. Just my not so humble opinion BAD10

Re: 2.7T colors and stamped steel suspension pieces
I was at Clair today getting my brake booster replaced on my 97 A4 1.8Tq and I saw the Tornado Red 2.7. I really didn't like it. I think the car is too big for the bright red. I also saw a Ming Blue and Santorin Blue 2.7T I really liked the Santorin. I have a Black on Vanilla 2.7T myself and love it but that's all personal taste.

I have seen it and like it. Makes the car look sporty. Black interior only way to go though. Considered it myself, but got racing green/melange instead due to scarcity of cars coming in w/PSK. Delivery in 6 weeks w/any luck.

Saw the red w/ vanilla int. at the Historics at 'Seca. Liked it in a flashy way. Not sure I would want to live with it every day though.
As for stamped steel parts, well, who goes under there much anymore ? So long as it works well, who cares ? Aluminium costs more and needs finnishing/machining processes. This is partially the reason why they cover so much of the engine in plastic. A plastic shroud looks neat, costs little, and helps protect components.
Sigh. Must be why my Alfa has all those pretty cast aluminium bits underneath - you won't mind the time you NEED to spend under there ;-)

S4 Avant ( IF we can get it ) on order
Gave up on the S3

I saw a Tornado A6 2.7T with a light tan interior (can't remember the name) and thought it looked great - very 'flashy' if that's what you want.
