2001 a6 2.7t static in drivers side speaker, window lock, and a/c
i get lots of static in my drivers side speakers when it is raining or real humid outside. other times it is fine. wanted to know if this was a common problem? and if it was just a bad connection at the head unit or what? any advice on how to fix?
also my window lock button is stuck in the one position and i was wondering if there was a way to fix this or just permanently disable it?
My a/c doesnt blow cold as well. any common issues with this? i can get hot air, just not cold, and the a/c lines are full of freon.
thanks in advance

...window lock button is stuck in the [on] position...
I assume you're refering to the rear window disable switch in the driver's window control module.
If so, the switch can be disassembled and the "push-on/push-off" mechanism of the disable switch investigated.
In my experience a plastic guide/gate mechanism within the switch breaks. When this happens, the switch usually rises to the "off" position. If your switch is always "on", things might be repairable.
You can buy a new switch module on eBay from VAG-TEAM1 (out of Hong Kong) for about $35 including shipping.
Or I could send you my broken switch module (rear windows are disabled unless you hold the switch down) to use while I try repairing yours.
Let me know...
BTW...the plastic in the switch breaks when we're too harsh with the on/off action. Slow things down and I can almost guarantee the switch will never break. Bad design, I know, but we've got to live with it.<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-A6-C5-Window-Lifter-Panel-Master-Switch-Brand-New_W0QQitemZ280162661899QQihZ018QQcategoryZ50459Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem">Window switch mechanism on eBay</a></li></ul>

Re: ...window lock button is stuck in the [on] position...
this does sound like my issue. i would rather it be stuck off then on. whats the easiest way to take the switch out so i can tinker with it?
thanks

Re: Well, the speaker sounds like it's blown to me.
well its not blown because sometimes it will work perfectly im betting its the wiring i just havent taken it apart to figure it out. i also think that it is the wiring to the headunit because both drivers side speakers do it at the same time.

Removal of the window control module
There should be a small slot within the front lower area of the door handle. Insert a long shank small flat blade screwdriver into that slot about 1.5 to 2 inches and tilt the blade toward the rear of the car. You must exert enough pressure on a plastic tab inside to flex it backwards a 1/16 inch or so. Then push up slightly. The switch module and surround should begin to rise up. Grab the front edge of the assembly and remove it.
The rest of the work will be obvious.
