2002 A6 3.0...two "tidbits" I forgot to record in my "first impressions" posted earlier...
Both relate to the Tiptronic® shifter. First, the gate to the "+/-" selector has been moved. It's now lower by about an inch. No idea why, but someone will have an opinion. Second, the nagging "scratched aluminum/plastic shifter panel" may be a complaint of the past. This new panel is "brushed aluminum" (at least in appearance) and so is a more matte finish (similar to the button on the shifter itself) than its current "polished" look. Scratches will be far less noticeable. That's a good thing.

Is the size of the aluminum surround the exact same size as '98-'01 cars?
Just curious with regards to the size, shape of the wood surround, just in case I decide I need S6 grey wood in my 4.2 (doubtful, but who knows).
