Do you know what service manuals cover my vehicle? Since its an Avant it is actually similiar to the 97's...In '98 the Sedan went to the new body style...Robert Bentley just gave me the runaround..said it SHOULD be covered in the '98-'00 manual...makes more sense that things would be similiar to the older '97 manuals....Also, Dyment (Audi Publication Distributor) said they have sets of "Factory" manuals for sale (much more than Bentley)...They said they are not Robert Bentley....I thought Robert Bentley made the factory manuals...at least for my '87 4000CSQ and '89 200Q...Thanks for your help

Since I don't think there were any changes made to the '98 avant, over the '97... if there were, they were minor. I'd guess 99% of what's in there applies to your car. I have never heard of the '98 avant having any changes over the '97.

My repair manual (electronic) says "Official Factory Repair Manual" everywhere, so I don't know if there is another "official" manual made... I know that there <b>are</b> others, though, since my shop has a manual published by some other company... forget which one.

BTW do you have the number for Dayment? I think I lost it and don't want to wait on hold with AOA to get it again.

Dyment (800) 544-8021....so your electronic manual...is that made by Bentley?? Didn't know they made electronic for the older 92-97...what's cheaper?...I think I'd prefer paper...can take it out to the garage....

Does your car have the radio station display in the auto-check screen location? and does it have a trip computer? Mine doesn't show up their like my '89 and I'm wondering if I can turn it on somehow (I was told that)

The E version is sold on eBay frequently... I got mine for $81 with shipping.

But my A6 doesn't. Different radio head units. Yes, trip computer is right below the odometer... reset by pushing in the **** to the right. The '92 models had a trip computer with other features, but it was removed for '93. Don't know why, or what features it had.
