A6 combination possibilities
Hey all...newb here. Looking for an A6 in the near future and wanted to see what chance I have at finding this exact combination:
Early 2000 A6
2.7T
6 speed manual
Silver
All Black interior
HID headlights
I found almost the exact match save for the headlights. I have HID lights in my '00 Grand Prix GTP and can't live without them. Are the lights even an option with this setup OR what are my chances at finding one?
To avoid beating a dead horse I'll be blunt and respect a blunt answer. Blow off valves are pointless and actually a handicap to the Audi--understood. Does this BOV/divertor valve actually function to suit the Audi ECU as well as the stocker?
http://www.lltek.com/DBOV_turbo_divertor_blowoff.htm
I by no means want a super loud woosh (so no rice jokes please and thanks)...just a small amount so in theory according to the website I could turn down the BOV setting to allow most of the air to return to the intake while only a small amount would escape. Thus it would satisfy both of my requirements (no performance loss and the desired blow off sound). Is this acceptable or been used by experienced members?

Should be able to find one...
Silver over black is fairly common, and 2000 had 6-speed available, xenons were a seperate option (not part of a package).
Any reason why you want an early-model 2000? Cost?
A few posts down, there is some discussion about the improvements made to the oil lines for the KO3 turbos. Not suer if that is anything you want to factor in your decision.
I have a 2001, and I love it! Sometimes I wished that I waited to find a 2002, but I am happy with my car!

Re: Should be able to find one...
Yes cost is the factor. I was searching for a RWD/AWD manual transmission car within the $15,000-$20,000 price range and I found out (not knowingly) that the A6 is affordable!
I've been trying to read all the threads and that one somehow slipped by me. I really want the best I can get in the price range. I'm going to go through and read it to see what year I decide on. As long as the tranny is a manual the number of gears isn't a factor

Skip that valve.
Just upgrade the valves to something that works better and forget about making noise. If air comes out of those cute little horns, that is air that has been measured and reported to the ECU by the MAF.

For about 20k, you should be able to find a 2001 2.7T
I have seen a few in that range.
FYI - The A6 FAQ referenced by JimR is also linked just above my signature picture, called Stoney's Links. Very useful stuff there about the A6.
