Default Aftermarket Brake Rotors

Does anyone know where to get some nice slotted or cross drilled brake rotors for an A6 2.7T?

Are the rear brakes the same as the 2.8 or the S4?

I want to upgrade the rotors, but I cant seem to find a matching set for fronts and rears.

Thanks,
Jate

Default I'm looking as well - warped another set this weekend...

I need the fronts at least w/ new pads ( mintex) or I may just deal and get the Stoptechs...

If you have a 2000 or 2001 2.7t, you can get Coleman rotors for the fronts through Bira. Or you can just get Stoptechs. I'd recommend biting the bullet and getting the Stoptechs.

The rear 2.7t brakes are the same as the S4 except that the rotors are solid, not vented.

Default Bad shaking when brakes applied 2001 A^ 2.7

They "R & R'd" my rotors 10,000 miles ago( car has 30,000 now) but the problem is back. I wonder if they will just replace the Rotors and lining this time. Why does this car eat brakes?

Default Bad pads is supposedly the root of the problem..

once out of warranty I'd go to the Mintex's or similar..

Until then the dealer can keep replacing them - make sure the dealer doesn't just "turn" the rotors... but that they in fact replace both the rotors and pads... I had my local dealer "replace" them twice and note it as such on the service order when in fact they'd only turned them and not even replaced the pads.... A digi camera can be very helpful in those situations... AoA wasn't too impressed...

Default Am I crazy, or does this seem absurd? Particularly in 00 and 01, Audi used...

... "big" rotors to improve braking. Yet, they cannot deliver a rotor/pad set that can stand up to routine, day-to-day use?

Default NOT absurb...S6 sounding like a stuck pig now after 3500 miles...same problem as the allroad...

This was one of the reasons I said goodbye to the allroad and now the S6 is doing the same thing. I HATE to spend the dollars to put on the stoptechs but I now have no choice. Wife and kids starting to make fun of the "stealth bomber" which isn't too stealthy anymore.

Default Read up on the BIRA rotors... much cheaper and should fix warping for good....

It is not necessarily the pads but the rotors which are poorly designed... they get too hot. Get the BIRA rotors and some recommended aftermarket pads and you'll save $1400 over the StopTechs which are really only needed for full-speed track use. See FAQ below for more info.
