Default Whine could just be turbos spooling up...

torn TBB would be from hissing (smaller tear) to whooshing (large hole). The leak would result in diminished power. This all assumes of course you have a turbocharged model.

Default That sucks, nice sig though : )

Pretty obvious (to me anyway) that the clamp caused the failure. Basically, if you look at the bottom of the clamp you know what I'm talking about. That little dimple or crease where the clamp overlaps causes the tear and then the pressure pulls the tear larger. It just seems to happen quicker on chipped cars. I also think Audi techs put the clamps on too tight.

If I may ask - are you chipped?

Surprised the "L" version lasted that long. Ditto singletrack on the sig.

Yeah, I put the new TBB on myself, and tried to not tighten as much. But Audi did it last time, so I have no perspective. I was thinking about removinging it in a week or 2 see if the clamp marks are present.

APR. But lost one before chipping also. Same guys installed.

That "L" series TBB was a replacement? How long ago?

It sucks - too tight and it tears, too loose and it can blow right off : )
