Any NY'ers get in trouble for no front license plate?
I thought it looked horrible and took it off --My wife told me I was going to get a big ticket. True or False --I dont think they care --I have had it off for about 2 months and not one cop has said a thing~! Any stories?

Generally not a big problem...
I lived in NY for 18 yrs with no front plate. I got stopped twice, and was given a citation for improper equipment in both cases. These citations allow ten days for you to correct the problem for no penalty. You just need to put the plate on temporarily, go to an inspection shop, they sign off on the form, you mail it in, and you're all set.

going on 9 months now, have been questioned about it....
I reply that it was on the car, was knocked off by someone backing into the vehicle.
Then, if necessary, I show them the plate holder and plate in the trunk.
The officer usually does not want to bother with turning in a ticket at that point, or writing a ticket up for that matter either.

No front plate on ANY of my cars...since 1968. Yes, I live
in a state that DOES require a front plate. Been "spoken to" about this by the "big belly of the law" 5 times...received one citatation...put the plate on and got out of the fine...went home and took the plate off. The fine has now been raised to $101, and with all cop shops looking for every $$$ they can, I might put it on. Then again, I might not.
Cheers,

donny31 - A little off topic but I got a question
I see that you have the exhaust "cutouts" or whatever they're called from lltek.com.
I just picked up the exact same year make car as you and was thinking of doing this as well.
But first I got a couple of questions..
1. Were they hard to install
2. If not, then just go over the install process for me real quick
3. Are you happy with the end result
4. What'd you pay for them (if you don't mind me asking).
Thanks in advance from a fellow NY'er (Brooklyn NY that is...)
