Default Anybody get the A6 front end shake fixed for good??

Took my 2002 A6 2.7t in for wobble--dealer balanced/rotated tires and replaced a driveshaft-one week later it returns--at 45-50MPH take hands off wheel and watch it wobble--can feel shake through feet on floorboards--Seems more noticeable after setting overnight and takes a full 15 minutes to settle down--but is always there but less noticeable. I have owned 2 B5 Passats before(same front suspension) and both were way smoother.

My guess is steel belted radial flat spots or condisation inside tire causing out of balance

I did. Tie rod ends were bad. Have an independent shop check them out

Default Me Too! Had front, then rear shakes...

After new rotors, brakes, rebalancing at dealer a couple of times, and at two tire dealers, the second set of new Conti's solved the problem. If you have conti's, I suggest that you start there, but be warned, the Audi dealers don't want to support tire warranties.

Good luck!

Default Paid $114 for a rotation an balancing by a competent person... it went away.......

He put my front wheels on his Hunter machine (that had been balanced 1000 miles earlier) and found them 3/4 oz. off. Very smooth since then, probably better than new.
