anyone every had to snake wires through from engine to passenger?...howd you do it?

Not sure if this works with Audis, but traditionally you'd make a knot in the end of the wire,
then use some really heavy duty tape and tape it to a straightened wire coat hanger. Find some of the large grommets between outside and inside, that allow stock wires through. Very carefully and gently feed it through one of the grommets between the outter body/engine compartment, and the inner compartment. Then route the wires under the carpet and door sill covers inside the car. If you get it wrong though, prepare for water inside the car.
I would ask the audio forum to be sure this is the best way in these cars.

Go through the firewall on the drivers side and route across behind the dash.
On my car there was an empty gromet on the drivers side. It is above and to the right of the gas pedal. It's easy to remove the plastic cover in the engine compartment (like your changing the cabin filter) and locate it outside. Hopefully it's empty, you can just slice a + into it and feed your wires through. Then fish them across to wear you need them. Surprisingly there is alot of room this route. I ran my boost line through there as well.

i think i saw an empty gromet in there...i dont see how a gromet that high up ends near pedals...
is this gromet near the battery (to the right side? thats where im talking about)...thanks

It's pretty far up above the gas pedal. I was just using as a ref.
I think it was between the battery and the abs lines. To the right of batt. when facing the car. After you push your wires through they will fall down from above the gas pedal. I think the gromet is about 4" s above the top of the gas pedal bracket. there is enough room to stick your hand up behind the dash (and around pedals) if they get jamed up there. Def. need a flashlight.

Yep. Passenger side firewall, huge rubber boot with all kinds of stuff running through it.
Had to make a small and precise incision and use some silicone lubricant spray on the 8 guage power wire. Also had to remove the glove compartment (2-3 easy accessible bolts). Haven't had any problem's with rain/water.
