Battery dead on 02 3.0Q, only 4.2 Battery available - Any harm using 4.2 battery?
Hey guys,
I have searched and found a thread posted a long time ago where someone was using a 4.2 battery in the 2.7T.
My battery died this morning, I called around and 3.0Q battery is not available anywhere (except dealership). Sams near me does have a 4.2 battery which is bigger in size and more cranking power.
My question is, If the bigger battery fits, is there harm is using a bigger more powerful battery?

No, there's no harm in using a bigger battery, provided it fits the tray and the hold-down, and provided the vent hose is attached properly. Check an Interstate retail location to see if you can buy a "used" battery - they go for about $35. I've got them in 3 of my vehicles right now and you'd never know I spent 15% of retail on them.
