Default Bent my winter wheels, opinions on new wheels...

Here's what I hit at about 45mph, at night of course:

Here's what it did to my front and rear driver's side wheels:

This is exactly why I do not run my BBS CH wheels in the winter. I changed lanes right into this hole in the road, lots of laughs let me tell you, he he, lots of four letter words followed, good thing no kids were in the car... I am not really wanting to fix the wheels. I found these(see link) on ebay, the seller says they are made in Germany and are TUV approved etc. Anyone know about this seller on ebay? I just want low cost winter wheels that fit properly. I paid less than $400 for the used Mille Miglia wheels so I don't feel so bad about the damage. Suggestions?

wheels link

Default why are you running 18" winter wheels with thin 35 series tires

What happen to the stock 17" ? You could do 245/45/17 till they start filling the pot holes

But I like the AMG Benz knockoff wheels, I'm curious to see how they'd look

18" is the smallest I can run with the big Brembo front brake kit.

Keep that pic, take more pics, and try to have the city pay for the repairs

Default True dat. In many cases, the city will pay for damage.

If not, just get the wheels rebalanced. I had two dinged summer 17s on my Mazda Protege5 (with ultra-low-profile 215/40/17 tires). While the dings were noticeable, they stopped making the wheels I was using. Instead of buying 4 new wheels to replace two, I just rebalanced them. Everything worked well until winter when I could take them off for winter wheels/tires and have them fixed properly.

Don't buy new wheels. Repairs cost ~$100.

Default You might try going to Discount Tire. I bought my wheels there for about $125/each...

They have a good selection on-line.

Discount Tire Direct
