I was in the shop doing the timing belt on the wife's a4 2.8, had the stereo going at a moderate level. Heard an alice cooper song that I love so I ran to the stereo cranked up the ole pioneer speakers and holy crackle batman! so being a little pissed off knowing I could not have blown my pioneer speakers, I took the cover off. Low and behold all the rubber around the cone is GONE! I don't mean a rip here or there its GONE!. After further investigation shows there is steel wool (been missing that for a while, thought I misplaced it) stuffed in the breather hole for the speakers. That little rat (maybe a mouse) bastard had eaten my speakers for his nest. Took the cover off the second speaker. Yup he got both of them. I was pissed but couldn't help laughing because the speakers still worked.. They just looked really funny moving without the rubber on the outside hehe. Thought you folks could use the funny part. ****.. now I gotta get new speakers
