Default Cd changer connector

Couple weeks ago, my cd changer stopped responding, whenever I push "mode" buttom, it would not cahnge to cd mode.
I disconnected the cd changer and found out that one of the pin/contact eroded.
My question is if it is possible to change/replace only the connector not the whole wire? If it is, does anyone know where could I get one? If it is not, could anyone suggest me what other alternatives I have?

Thank You

Default You can get the body cable from the dealer. The part on the changer, no. But...

You should find out how you're getting water in there... that should NOT be getting wet.

Default It is called a 13 pin DIN connector

(male)

You should be able to find this at any better electronic supply store (I don't think Radio Shack has them). I bought mine locally from vetco electronics.

http://shop.vetcosurplus.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=72_220_228&products_id= 6573</a

Is that a completely eroded pin? If so, wow!

Default 2nd on the moisture concern. I cannot think of a reason why water/moisture would collect there...

definitely find out that first, then worry about the connector.

Default Same thing happened on to my 99 A6

Turned out to be a clogged sunroof drain which caused water to drain behind the c-pillar and down onto the CD changer.

Look for water spots on the c-pillar fabric. BTW, I purchased a phatnoise system for $120.00 and spliced into the cd changer cable in lieu of plugging in the adapter cable. This 'fixed' my CD changer issue.

Default Rubber gasket for cable going to fog light?

On my car I had water on the Phat box. I found that the rubber gasket to seal the hole on the driver rear fender was out of place. The electrical cable to the fog/license lights goes through it. Putting the rubber gasket back in place fixed the problem. It's near the trunk hinge.
