CEL after replacing 1 O2 sensor
I search the archives and ran out of ideas.
Bought the 2.7T to my indy yesterday to replace an 02 sensor. After picking up the car we drive about 5 miles and stopped at the pharmacy to pick some stuff up. When I started the car the CEL came on.
Brought the car back this morning after they 'checked' it and told me it was a loose connection and within 4 blocks the CEL came back on. So I drive it back immediately and this time they work on it for a while. They told me that they did an 'adaptation' so the the ECU can recognize the new O2 sensor. But I noticed that my radio was reset which tells me they disconnected the battery. (Does this need to be done?). So I drive about 5 miles again stop at the gas station to check my tire pressure and upon starting the car and driving 2 blocks the CEL came on again!
This is a PITA to say the least as I was hoping to take care of this before an upcoming road trip. My indy tells me to bring it back and they'll replace the part.
Anyway, my questions are:
1. Does anything need to be done after a O2 sensor replacement?
2. Should I try pulling the fuse that controls the sensor or ECU to see if that'll reset it? If so what fuse do I pull?
Hopefully I'll be able to get my VAG back from a friend tonight to check the codes. But in the meantime any ideas?
Thanks, much appreciated.

Let's start with the most obvious question: Why did you have the sensor replaced?
And then move on to:
Which sensor was replaced?
If there are codes, they should be cleared after any work is done. There is never any reason to disconnect the battery.

I've had O2 codes for a while and figured it was time to get it fixed...
since my MPG was horrible and gas prices are ridiculous nowadays.
Again it was all in prep for a long road trip.
This was the orginal code:
17539 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B2 S1; Internal Resisteance too High
P1131 - 35-10- - - Intermittent
I'll get the VAG back tonight to see what the current code is.
