Dealer Labor Time....UPDATE
I just want to post a quick update about my dealer overcharging me. I posted a few days ago about the dealer charging me 6 hours to do a t-belt (et. al.) while already doing the cam adjuster under warranty.
After quite a few people insisted the labor was too high I looked into it further. I took "Definitely an A6 4.2!'s" advice (thanks) and got a quote for the same work from another dealer (Carousel in MPLS....they kick a$$). There estimate was for 4 hours of additonal work (instead of 6).
I also had Lora send me a copy her dealer invioce listing here time to do the t-belt job (thanks again Lora). With both of these in hand I called the dealer ready to do battle.
The first call was the service advisor. He didn't like me second guessing his labor time and kept blabing about the "estimate" that he gave me. (EVEN though his "estimate" violated Iowa Code Section 537 B three seperate times!!) After he finsihed yelling, I gave up talking to him and he said he would have his manager call me.
Next call....service director. After 5 minutes of talking to the service director he admitted that I was overcharged. They are going to send my a check for 2 hours of labor plus tax. It was almost too easy with him!!
I was ready to do battle but in the end I didn't need to. I'm still not happy with my dealer since I was overcharged in the first place....BUT at least they admitted it and sent me some money back!!
Thank for everyone's suggestions!!
