Re: Gas mileage on your 2.7T?
Sounds like you're already doing all the reasonable things you can to maximize your mileage. 27mpg is pretty darned good. I've never been able to get more than about 25-26mpg on a long highway run. On average I seem to get about 22-23mpg with a mixture of highway and rural driving. Are you in an area without oxygenated gas perhaps? In my area all gas is 10% ethanol which causes a decrease in gas mileage.
As far as "injector cleaner" goes, I don't see it making any real difference in gas mileage unless you had a serious carbon build-up problem that's causing your engine to run poorly in general.
My mileage computer isn't very accurate either. You can tweak it a little with a VAG, but it never annoyed me enough to fiddle with it. I use it more to see if there are any gross changes between tanks than to get an accurate accounting for my mileage.
Also, for what it's worth, I didn't notice much change in gas consumption when I added the GIAC X chip.
Cheers,

Tailgating is never good, but the stopping distance of a Tahoe/Denali isn't much better...
than the Exxon Valdez. You'd probably have time to catch a movie and a cocktail during it's 60-0 deceleration.

Wow, you're probably averaging 10 more mpg than I am already. I love my car and have to drive, so I don't bother to even monitor my fuel economy. I'm a conservative driver, but as most, am dependent upon my vehicle for transportation.
It does sound like you're doing everything you can, so if it is still unacceptable, perhaps you do need to thing about another mode of transport.

I hate when I see people shift around or below 2000 rpms, the oil pressure just reaches maximum
around 1700rpms, so when you shift your pressure is going to drop causing more wear and tear on your engine, specifically your rod bearings. I try to shift around 3k and cruise around 2k just to save wear on the rod bearings.

I love people who tailgate the semi in hope of better mileage.......
it makes me wonder who their life insurance salesman is, and if he knows what they are doing.
FYI folks, aside from the normal risk of tailgating any vehicle, when you tailgate a semi, especially at highway speed, you run one extra risk. If a trailer tire blows, you will not be able to get out of the way of the debris, especially that tread cap fast enough. Oh yeah, and don't bother thinking you'll sue the trucker for the damage, since the cops will have to be called because it's an accident, you will be cited for tailgating.
