Default Hard Wire V1 in A6

Quick question...

Any how to ideas in hard wireing the V1? Unlinke in my GTI the A piller is too tight against the glass to run it that way...how are you guys running your cords from your fuse box up through???

pics of hidden displays in a C5 A6 would be great!

thank you

Default Re: Hard Wire V1 in A6

See Stoney's Links under Radar Detectors http://sonolithics.com/files/a6_links.html

The cord will fit in the "gap" tht exists between the A-Pillar and glass. I put the cord flat against the glass and with a piece of thin plastic (i.e credit card) wedged it in the gap. I did not have to remove the A-pillar moulding since the cord in not behind the moulding but only wedged in the gap. I then tapped the fuse with the neat fuse taps found at Advantaghe Auto parts. They are used in this fog light rewire See https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/375675.phtml and are handy to use for the V1 install if you don't want to tap into a wire.

Default Re: If noobies knew about Stoney's Links they wouldn't have to ask what has been answered

They should be aware of those links and not have to be discovered as here. Seems ike it is supposed to be a secret for those already in the know. It should be a "sticky" kept at the top of this forum and easily found by the noobie.

Use a popsicle stick to push the wire behind the pillar. Worked great for me.

Re: But must work fast before the popsickle stick "handle" melted.

It was tight but the wire went in the A pillar just fine.
