So that forward is downshift, backward is upshift.
Is this something that would be as simple as reversing 2 wires? Or am I dreaming of simplicity here?
To me they're backwards, and the video game racing simulators I've driven, (and in sequential gearbox racecars) down is always forwards, and up is back...following the g-forces.
I find myself using the Tip more than I though I would with the hills around my house, and I'd love to reverse it.

Tiptronic's premise is based on Porsche's old PDK gearbox. German logic - push up to go up a gear
and down to go down. Think Porsche had some sort of patent on that format, which is why other systems and games had to use the reverse.
Don't think it's a simple wire swap, but I seem to remember some folks looking into whether they could swap sensor magnets. Don't recall if there was an outcome.

That's not entirely true. BMW in their X5 used a push up/shift up steptronic as well, but later
switched it to push up/downshift for the 2002 year. They then again reversed the shift pattern either the next year or the year after back to the push up/shift up. Completely confused people everywhere but then again, it's a BMW. If Porsche had the patent, seems strange they would allow BMW to infringe on that patent.

If you want to experiment, I have an extra circuit board. I'll try to take some pics later...
of the top and bottom. Maybe there is a way, but I would want to try it myself.

All you'd have to do is reverse the + and - wires in the connector. Should take 15 mins max.
Swap pins 4 and 5 in the 10-pin connector that plugs into the shifter circuit board.
There's no reason this shouldn't work. All it does is send a momentary ground signal to the TCU. So, if you reverse the wires, then it should reverse which direction you're shifting.
