Hawaii Three-O sighted in PNW!

Hi, Forumsters! Sorry for the long absence; we moved from O'ahu to that other paradise, the ever-sunny Seattle! (Back home again, actually... lived here for 21 years before moving to Hawaii seven years ago.)
Why? For the seasons, the roads, the food, the opportunities both personal and professional... and the adventure! Time to shake things up, it was, for both of us.
First drive was PDX and return -- the Hood Canal Bridge was closed that day and diverting traffic had I-5 clogged for the first 80 miles. We thought we were in mid-morning H-1 rush hour on the way into Honolulu!
The A6 (and A4AvantQ) are loving life here, garaged and pampered. Alohas (and howdies!) to everybody from the new home.
What's up on the PNW activities calendar?

Oh, they do indeed suck!
No perfect picnic over here, though... Seattle isn't exactly the billiard-table roads poster child either!
But it's nice to let the miles roll... nice to use the cruise control for more than two and a half minutes.
Did they ever fix the HUGE puka by the Pupukea Foodland? That one was killah!!

The upsides and downsides: Audi in HI vs. Audi in WA
Upside: Audi is spoken here in Washington... the four rings are everywhere. In Hawaii, we're secret cultists.
Downside: It gets a little ludicrous at times -- today, driving through bustling downtown Ballard (yah, sure), I stopped for the four-way in my silver C5 A6, to see... a silver C5 A6 at the curb, a black C5 A6 to my left, a silver A4 B7 speeding away behind... and a silver allroad at the other curb!
Official State Vehicle?

Welcome back to the Mainland! So...
Are you going to be searching around for a Quattro to replace your CVT, or will you tough it out?
How are you enjoying the B7 A4 wheels? I think you are the ONLY one with those on the A6 so far. Too bad you had to pay so much for shipping those to the islands just last year...and now you are here...

We have a few things going here in the PNW
First, watch the AW PacNW forum. Also, Portland has an Audi club with a message board on yahoo groups. Finally, there is the official regional branch of ACNA, the Audi Club Northwest website.
We're about due for a GTG at the moment down here, but watch the AW PNW board for the seattle guys, they are fond of super-fattening donut GTGs and the occassional brewery night. Good crew up there, just watch out for Kimchee!
Anyway, welcome back to shore, matey, and we hope to see you at some of the local activities.

Not sure on that one . .
I don't get out to Haleiwa side much, I stay on the leeward side mostly.
My brother-in-law busted a rim and a couple of control arms several weeks ago going through a pothole in Waikiki. He's a salesman at JN and they just transferred him to Audi of Hawaii. Being part of JN Autogroup meant the repair cost wasn't too painful for him. I think he's trading in the 2.7T for an S4 now.
Actually my favorite place to drive in Hawaii is on the Big Isle. No potholes there and nice long stretches. I especially like the drive from Volcano to Kona, where you start out with long stretches and then cap it off with some nice twisties!
