Headlight recommendation from halogens
My original style halogen lights aren't lighting up the road properly and one has a loose reflector. I've ground off the yellow haze and gotten the best halogen bulbs at the LPS to no avail.
Has anyone successfully upgraded to DOT standard HID or super bright LED aftermarket headlight assemblies? Found some on eBay but the seller's reviews off eBay are terrible and a knowledgeable friend said I need to be careful. Apparently there are a lot of non-DOT aftermarket headlights that dazzle other drivers (probably why it seems so many people have high beam on inappropriately).
If anyone has experience with good ones they'd recommend or bad ones to avoid, I'd appreciate it.

The loose reflector is probably a significant factor in poor lighting. I have phillips halogen bulbs in good headlight assemblies and they are pretty good. Of course, the factory xenon HID lights are phenomenal and to be preferred.

Check around for some xenons. They are far superior in performance. On Ebay look for some dis-assemblers that are selling parts. There are some that have decent reviews. I don't have any specifics but there are a few that I have purchased parts from in the past and had no issues with fit or otherwise.
