Default Hella Smoked Tail Lights for 2002 A6

Does anyone know if the Hella Smoked Tail Lights fit a 2002 A6 3.0 FWD? I can only find them listed for A6's up to 2001. Will these still fit? Also, are these legal?

Default They'll fit, but they're not legal (in the U.S.) unless you install the separate reflectors.

The lenses don't have rear-facing reflective surfaces so they come with small, separate reflectors designed to be installed in the rear bumper. In addition, my understanding is that the lenses don't allow the light from the separate side marker bulb to shine through.

Thanks for the info. Has anyone tried using tail light spray tint with good results?

Default Actually, they DO have reflectors, but they're white instead of..

red. Not sure what the legalities are, but I've been driving in California for nearly two years without the reflectors and no tickets. I'm not even sure if reflectors are mandatory by law, or just a really good idea....

As for the side marker lights - not sure what the issue there is. I have no complaints. Lots of people on this forum have them. Most (if not all) seem perfectly happy.

Hmmm, I thought the 2002 A6 lights and newer are slightly different. Mine have an amber section on them that I don't see on the Hella lights. Will this matter?

Ok, true. So what do I loose if I switch to the smoked Hellas? I have had the car less than a week.
