Default i am looking at buying a 99 A6 2.8Q, help

Should I go for a 2.7T I heard they are much faster. I just got out of a A4 1.8TQ tip and I want to get into an A6. Is it worth all of the extra $$$$.

Man are u NUTS!!!!! I just got a A6 2.8Q 98. I REALLY wish i had a 2.7t with manual. If you would rather have a race car than a family sedan then yes get the 2.7t. the fun factor is exponential.

Default Depends on how badly you want the extra performance...

It's quite a bit quicker but if you want to save $ the 2.8 is a nice compromise. You would also want to buy a late MY 2001 or 2002 2.7T if possible. That would make it significantly more than a 1999 2.8. The 2000's and early 2001's had some teething problems that were largely resolved later in 2001. Not all of them had problems so you can ask Audi about the service record for the car you are interested in.

My friend/dealer is selling it to me about $5,000 cheaper than I would have to pay elsewhere. I'll drive it tonight and see how it goes. I guess it could be chipped to make it go a little faster. I still really want to check out a A6 2.7T

Default Your ***-dyno needs to decide what it wants

the 2.8Q is NOT a hotrod, I would describe acceleration as leisurely and barely adequate. Oh it'll cruise at 100+ all day long, but there ain't no torque.

Default Check out the 2.7...

Be prepared to buy one though! If you can get a similar deal on a 2.7 then it might be worth it.

You might be able to chip the 2.8 but the minor amount of increased performance is probably not worth the cost.

Default Re: Check out the 2.7...

definitely will I prefer a sportier feel to cars.

It should be much better than an A4 1.8t tip

Default If you go for the 2.7T, try and get one with the sport suspension...

The non-sport is like a boat.
