I concur with Autoweek on the appearance of the new A8 (more)
Saw this beautiful, beautiful black A8 (2002) drive up yesterday and just thought to myself what a spectacularly gorgeous big car this is - very exclusive, very luxurious yet sporty, and that I should have one if I were in the market for a long wheelbase executive cruiser. I also considered how absolutely cool the S8 must be, especially in black. wow.
Anyway, I got home late last night and read through Autoweek, with the photos of the new A8 and have to say I concur with their feelings on the styling of the old versus the new. They much prefer the muscular look (I think that's what they said) of the current A8 over the sort of plain, Passat-ish look (my words, not theirs) of the new one. I was beginning to wonder if I would appreciate the RS6 as much when there will be a new A6 coming out very near the release of the RS6, but with styling headed where it may be headed, I think I'll be happier sticking with the current body model, besides, then we know all the kinks have been fully worked out!

Hmmm..
I can understand that, I also felt like that initially. I drive past an A8 in a driveway every morning, and then walk past a S8 from the parking garage to the office. Beautiful rear end, infact can't think of anything better. I thought the new design is kinda dubious when I first saw. Then again I thought the same about the new A4 when I first saw it, now I love it.
These pics changed my opinion, look at those last two pics. Quite stunning.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/12243.phtml</a
