I s there anything in particular one should look out for in a '99 Avant?
I am going to go check out a '99 avant for my stepsister and figured I would ask the experts if there is anything out of the ordinary to keep an eye out for.
Thanks in advance, Adam

Also, timing belts should be replaced around
60-90k miles, depending on who you're talking to.
STFA for the last 3 days, there's a good thread on this; I don't have the link handy.

I have a 99 Avant with 27,000 miles and I would not recommend the car. It runs and handles very well but there have been at least 7 recalls. And failures of the window mechanism ( this was a problem on a Audi 5000 I had 10 years ago and also the sensor in the gas tank still was a problem) It took the dealer 3 years and 9 tries to fix the rear window washer. The leather seats at 27,000 miles are wearing out and I had to put sheepskin covers on them. The dealer was willing to replace the leather but when he did the car had more scratches and the seat now rocks. I would not touch the used 99 Audi without a 3 year warranty.
