Seems easy to follow.

All in all, after some point you are just replacing /maintaining parts, with some more expensive than others.

What has become obvious to me reading this forum is that the C5 A6 is not an easy car to maintain. Parts that fail in the second 100K miles require a lot of labor to replace. (Starter, Turbos, etc.).
If you are willing to replace an engine, why worry about the transmission. Reman units are easily available (for a cost)

How's this? It works if you quote the question you're responding to.

Doubt it, maybe if you parted it out.
The next answer is up to you, way too many questionable variables here.

Oh BTW beating on any car new or old takes it's toll, not saying you are or do but the turbo thing lends to un leash the ponies and that ten year old girl has probably been in a few rodeos before you.

Well I suppose if you take care of the car anything is possible, most of all paying attention to a potential problem before it becomes a big one is important.

Here is a valid point for you, if your handy and can learn well then most all the answers are in this forum to keep that car running.

As a new member with an interest you should take advantage of the other areas in AudiWorld along with searching past posts of relevancy pertaining to your questions, many of the parts vendors here have good prices on parts and some provide info on how to replace them.
