Just heard
Just got a memo from my dealer (Crown, St. Pete,FL) that my 2.7 is scheduled for the 40th week of production, expecting Nov Delivery. Was also told that PSK couldn't be added to the order. Too late, I asked last week. I ordered it w/ tip, premium and preferred.
I guess I will have to consider the Eibach's.
Again thanks to everyone on the board for all the great input and info!
01 2.7T tip

Re: Just heard
Seems there is still lots of confusion for suspension modifications on non sport packages. Can someone come up with the definitive way on how to improve handling. It would be great if someone would put toghether an A6 suspension kit that would include springs, shocks, swaybar & tire & wheel upgrades.

Re: Just heard
In my opinion the biggest reason for the PSK is the seats. You can easily upgrade the suspension to better than the PSK (coilovers, 17 or 18 inch wheels, atc.) but to get matching seats with better side support than the standard seats is going to be tricky. I haven't priced them but I bet the PSK seats would cost thousands and any aftermarket seat is going to look, well, aftermarket. If you are real big, well over 200# then the stock seats will hold you well but someone my size 6' 175# slides all over the place in the stock seats.
Don't get me wrong, the stock seats a very comfortable, I think they are better than my 740il seats, which were great but they are not designed for spirited driving.

Re: Hmm, I heard the eibach's were identical, virtually factory parts?
My understanding is that Eibachs are identical to the Audi "lowering springs" option listed in the 2000 Accessories brochure and "different" from the PSK pkg. There is however some continuing confusion regarding the degree of "initial" lowering, ie, the amt greater than the 30mm (1.2 inch) specified by the brochure ref'd above.

From what I've read here Eibachs lower around 1.5" and PSK lowers .79 inches (according to Audi)
I've seen the photos here of Eibach lowered cars and I've seen PSK cars at a dealer lot. The PSK car hardly looks lower unless you're looking carefully. The Eibach lowered cars in this forum look clearly lower. To me 1.5" lower than stock is way too low if you ever want to go up a driveway or drive in snow.
Guy
