Just picked up S6 - loving it (had 330i before)
Hi,
I have been watching this forum for awhile, and I just picked up an S6, which I love. I was skeptial about it's performance even compared to my old 330i, but so far it is exceeding my expectations. Has anyone else changed the ugly plastic pieces on the door with the ones on the allroad?? This should have been done from the factory. Oh well, it's a great car...

not the door panels, the ugly gray strips on the outside of the doors. the ones on the allroad are chrome, and look 100% better...

I hope you did not make the mistake of buying the N.A. Avant ...
in case you are not aware:
1. Avants are a waste of space and weight
2. Avants are for non-enthusiasts
3. Avants in S6 model only come with, good forbid, an AT/w sport mode.
4. Avants are soccer mom cars
5. Avants are boring and lack style
6. The S6 Avant does not have enough power
7. The $80K + RS6 will make the S6/S4 Avant and 4.2 allroad dinosaurs.
Obviously I am being sarcastic. Enjoy your car and drive it damnit. Break it in, don't baby it in. I don't mean tear it up but follow the manual and gradually increase speed and RPM's across the range as the mileage increase. Set a max RPM like 4K and try to stay under that for the first "x" (600 on my car) miles. Then gradually increase to reach max output as the break-in period elapses.
If you don't like the door pieces, I say order up the allroad pieces (if they fit) and make the car to your liking.
Congrats and have fun.
