Default A little more lease help please, especially Brian-MA

To all, and especially Brian-MA, I really appreciate the lease help. You guys are all great!
I'm the guy who is putting down $5K to get my payment under $850 so my company will pay. When I asked my dealer about "adjusting the residual upward" they tell me, "no can do" set by the bank and they also claim there is "no such thing" as multiple security deposits. They currently have offered $5K down, $840 per month for 36 months, 15,000 miles per year. Quite honestly, it seems like a good deal but I'd like to squeeze as much as I can out of a $63K car.
If possible, copy replies to jscatena@floracraft.com as I'm "on the road" shopping dealers in Ohio (I live in rural Michigan).
Thanks again for all your help!

Default Plug the figures the dealer gave you here . . .

also remember my warning about splitting hairs with the dealer. The ownership experience is important too.

Default Hey Scats: Good Luck With You!!! Few Thoughts For You!!!! (Long)

I am assuming that your company will give pay $850 a month for you, now you said that you are putting down 5000 for a 36 month lease...... this means that you are paying 950 a month for a 63K car(take 36 x 100 (3600) a month, and leave the rest (1400) for out of pocket to cover fees such as bank fee, DMV fee, etc), so you are paying 950 a month and 1400 our of pocket for 36 months, my uncle leased a 2000 SL500 2 years ago for 1000 a month with 1400 out of pocket, and the SL500 was a 100K car, this is why I think you are paying way too much for 63K car, give you another example, my A6 is a 46K car, I am paying 550 a month (1400 out of pocket), so I save 400/month compare to you, which means in 36 months later, I would save $14,400 over 3 years..... let me put it this way to you, don't get me wrong, I am not saying that you shouldn't get the S6, it's a great car, however, I do believe that it's a bit expensive, trust me, you are not going to find a bigger Audi fan than me, however,I would consider a M5 with 950/Month 1400 out of pocket, and the M5 is a 75-80K car, I will tell you what, I know some Audi dealership people around my area, if you are interested, send me an email, I will call them and get a quote on lease of S6 for you..... good luck, sorry about the long thread.......
Honestly, I think you can get the S6 for 850 a month, 15K, no 5000 down payment!!!

Default What happens if you change jobs? Who's on the hook? You or your company?

I get a modest car allowance that helps me pay for my allroad... but I made sure that even if I left my job, I could easily make the payments. Don't get yourself in over your head if you can't afford the $850 on your own if the company decides to not pay or if you move onto another company.

It's a perk, not guaranteed by most companies should financial difficulties arise.

Just a thought.
