Default LOSS OF OIL

I have a 2001 A6 with the 2.7 biturbo. It was -22F one morning when I started to work. I let it warm up for 10-15 minutes. 20 miles into my commute the oil light and alarm came on. I shut down and checked the dipstick. NOBODY HOME.
I got it towed to the FORD dealer where I purchased the car used along with the ford care warranty.
They put 4 qts of oil in, started it up and it leaked out the valve cover gaskets. Now I'm getting new heads, but I don't think that's the end of it. I've heard that the turbos can suck the oil right out of the engine sometimes and blow it out the exhaust. Any truth to this? Once my heads are replaced they can test the turbos. With no oil aren't they gonna be junk also?
Any help or thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Default Breather system problem

More than likely, you've got a clogged breather system. The pressure in the head builds due to the clogged breathing system and it forces the oil straight out through the seals.

New heads seems like an overreaction, but whatever. Make sure you get your breather hoses and suction pump replaced.

Default Re: Why are you getting heads?

I BOUGHT THE CAR AND WARRANTY AT A FORD STORE. THE HEADS GOT REALLY HOT ACCORDING TO THE TECH. THE DUMB WARRANTY GUY SAID THEY'D REPLACE THEM.
THEY DON'T HAVE THE TOOLS TO PULL THE ENGINE AND ARE ALLOWING ME TO SEND IT TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP.
THE PLACE HAS THE AUDI GURU OF ALASKA.
WHERE DID MY OIL GO??

Default Into the intake manifold, through the engine, and out the exhaust.

You had a massive smoke screen, for a while.

Default This happened to me, I am guessing your breather hose froze.

I was -35c and my wife took the car on a road trip, the breather hose / system froze and it blew all the oil out the seals. I had some seals replaced and later my cam shaft adjuster (about a 10 hour job the Audi dealer)

This is certainly a design problem with cold weather driving. You will find a lot of froze breather hoses where it blows out all the oil if you search this forum.
