Default Message to Audi

Here is a suggestion for the high performance versions of the B6 A4, C6 A6 and D6 A8. Instead of S4/RS4, S6/RS6 and S8/RS8 with normally aspirated engines for the S versions and twin turbocharged engines for the RS versions, ditch any future plans for the B6 RS4, C6 RS6 and D6 RS8. Instead, put the twin turbocharged engines in the B6 S4, C6 S6 and D6 S8. For the B6 S4, that would be the heavily revised four cam 40V 4.2L V8. The all new four cam 40V V10 with direct injection would be for both the C6 S6 (5L) and D6 S8 (5.5L). Message to AW members and readers: this is just a mere suggestion and is NOT factual or speculation. If Audi listened to this suggestion and went ahead with it, there would be only one high performance version of these new Audi models. Fewer models, less confusion and much better brand management. Maybe much better brand image, too. Will most likely also help sales and resale values tremendously. Prices for the B6 S4, C6 S6 and D6 S8 would of course be several $Ks lower than the BMW M3, M5 and M6 as well as the Mercedes C32 AMG, CLK55 AMG, S55 AMG and CL55 AMG when comparably equipped while offering equal quality/reliability and similar performance. That would also help tremendously. This all sounds like a smart and excellent marketing idea. Audi's biggest appeal is offering all of the attributes of a German luxury car with prices that are several $Ks lower than that of comparable BMW and Mercedes models when comparably equipped.

Default All I did was make some "suggestions".

I also said that my "suggestions" were NOT factual or speculation.

Default they aim to please ya know! ; )

I'm sorta with you...

but at the same timeI think the S models are desirable and very capable- somewhat within reach economically, and then the limited RS models are simply AWESOME and mystical- almost unattainable...

its a little different than the rest, sure, but its kind of exciting and in a way this whole rarity and exclusivity of the RS models might really bump up Audi's image... which would be much needed in this market of Bimmers and (less so) Mercs

I don't care if they have Ss and RSs but as far as pricing you're right on!
