Default In the middle of timing belt--quick question

Where is the plug for the crank lock pin tool? I have the Blau kit, and am reading their description, and I see the drawing in Bentley, but it has no context--where is this thing??? Probably doesn't help that it's a oily mess down there--cam & adjuster seals are part of this job too.

Dimensions to "landmarks" and depth into the engine greatly appreciated! Thanks!

on the driver side of the lower block to the rear of the oil filter housing just ahead of the clutch or trans housing. If you have a 2.7, you will have to loosen a turbo pipe to reach it. You'll see a 10mm(I think) bolt fastening the plug to the hole.

Oh, thank you! Perfect--found it. I have a 2.7t, and I did remove the pipe to get a little room in there. Hardly a "service" location.

Now we know what the next assignment was for the so-called engineer who put the failure-prone auxillary coolant pump under the intake manifold.

But I was looking further forward, and wouldn't have found it without the held, Bentley notwithstanding. Thanks again!
