Default muffler tip cutouts for < 2002 folks ?

Anyone have suggestions on the best route to follow here? I'm not sure my hand is steady enough to modify my existing valence with a grinder/dremel and I don't like the look of the angled-down tips. This will be for a Milltek 3" catback + downpipes install on my '01 2.7T.

Cheers,

Default They guy that did it for me...

installed the exposed exhaust tips first (after dropping the exhaust down). Then raised the exhaust up to the valence, marked where he wanted to cut, and then went at it. Did this about 4-5 times, each time enlarging the hole just a bit more to make sure the spacing was even.

Just make sure that whoever does the cutouts for you starts small, because you can always make the opening bigger, but you cannot make it smaller once it is cut.

Also, make sure that the spacing from the edge of the rear valance to the opening is even. You don't want it to look uncentered.

Best of luck!

Default Did mine while the car was on the lift

I used a Sharpie marker to outline the areas to be cut by eye, then I cut them out with a dremel tool. Took like 20 mins. I put door edge moulding where I cut and the cut-outs look fantastic!

Default fionnehs and Jmacs2.7T (out on paternity leave)....

When Jmacs2.7T had his valence cut, the outermost sensors had to be moved over just a little bit because they were occupying the space needed for the cutout. Fionnehs also did this mod, and insulated the wires.
