Back right around new years, my A4 2.8 started acting up, thought it might be a good time to consider a trade in for a larger car. I'd been thinking about getting an A6 2.7T for a while and the dealer had a ton of used ones and was looking to deal. Got a 2002 Lease Return fully loaded (I can't tell what option it doesn't have) in immaculate condition inside and out. Love the sport seats, power window shade, Bose stereo, back up sensors, and more. The only downside was the miles, it had about 66,000 so I bought a 2 year 24,000 mile extended warranty.
No real mods in the first 6 weeks, other than doing the VAG-Com for the windows, door locks, etc.. Going tomorrow to Dynospot Racing to get the GIAC X-Chip, although I've been impressed with the stock power, no way I can not chip the car. Looking forward to it.

Yea, I'm totally psyched.

Been hard to hold off on mods. Been thinking about the RS6 type trunk lid spoiler. Not sure yet if I want it or not, I like the smooth lines of the stock rear. At first I was hot on getting 18" RS4 Reps, but the OEM Sport 17s have grown on me. I'll still probably get the RS4 reps, but not in as much of a hurry. Gotta consider an exhaust too, but first things first, getting the chip and Evo diverter valves.

Hard to compare...
My 2.8 was putting out, I'd guess, a max of 250 hp at the crank with the blower. The PES system was designed for 93/94 octane gas, not the California crappy 91. Coupled with my A4 being DBW, the timing had to be pulled back quite a bit to eliminate detonation, so I didn't get anywhere near full power out of the blower. Still, it was a blast to drive. Big difference between the 2.8 with the blower and the 2.7T and heavier car. The power was so linear in the 2.8, that it was sneaky fast. Totally different from the 2.7T and waiting a second or two for the turbos to spool up, which I'm enjoying a lot too.
