My hood release in grille is broken...what next?

The pull tab is flat out missing. How do I get the hood open?

Well, 30 people looked but I figured it out. When you open the hood, you have enough room to unscrew the drivers side of the grille, which allows it to bend out enough to get to the release. A trip to the junkyard, and "bam" it's fixed.

new pull tabs are like 10-15 bucks from the dealer. the old brittle 12 year old one might not last much longer. Might think about replacing it still.

How much of the pull tab is missing? Now that you got the hood open, could you have reached in there with a long needle nose pliers and simply pulled on what was left?
