I've got an 02' A6 with the 2.7T and it seems the belt tensioner needs some attention (replaced). I've got 55K on it and am very willing to just have the TB job done now (replacing all applicable items of course), but the issue is that tommarow morning I've got to leave town. Because of my wifes schedule and her "needs" I have to drive the A6 rather than my car. I'm only traveling about 300 miles each way, but will be there for a week, driving probably 50 miles each day, for a total of probably 750 miles. My question is, am I simply being paranoyed that something may happen to the vehicle if I drive it this distance, or do people suppose I'll be fine?

Applicable information - BT issue just started, at this point only light noise. I've dealt with tensioner issues on both BMW's and Audi's I've owned in the past, but for some reason the 2.7T has got me all up tight....

Which belt tensioner? Serp I might chance, timing belt never.
