You don't have to wait. You just have to pay for it.

Default Mine has paid for 2 changes so far. One at 6 months ( 3000 miles) and one recently at

11 months (6500) miles. I have them change at 6 months instead of 10,000 miles.

so far they have not argued with me.

$80 and some effort and you can do it yourself! Like I did...totally sucked!

Default Nah...the last time it really sucked!

Changed the oil in both cars...did the S6 first...went fine except had to go out and get a new oil filter wrench...it was impossible to get off by hand (well, at least my hand)...but that caused the oil in the 4.2 to be kinda hot which ultimately led to me spilling a couple quarts on the garage floor when it began overwhelming the receiving pan, I couldn't reach in and grab the drain plug since it was pretty hot...which kinda sucked...hindsight says I shoulda just put my finger over the hole until the pan sucked down some more of the oil...but I was not thinking clearly...

Additionally, my hydraulic jack kinda crapped out on me...has a little leak that I can't figure out how to tighten up...which led me to use the Audi jack and a hydraulic bottle jack...to make a long story a little shorter...I wound up bending the ridges in front of and behind the jack points in the front of the car...very difficult to jack this freaking car up...very few points that are safe...really a pain in the ***!

Good thing the next oil change for each car is a scheduled one at the dealer!

Realistically, if my equipment were more ideal...it really is very easy.

$80, I hope for both cars. I don't even have to jack the 2.8 up to change =)

Default Uh...that'd be each...~$40 for each filter and $4.50/qt of M1...

Yeah, I think next time I'm gonna drive the car up on some 2 inch high blocks...just to give me enough room to get under. I'm a bit claustrophobic...so I can't really get under the car without a little extra room (that is, while being able to breathe normally

That does suck. I really don't think I want the new A6. The maintenence sounds like a major PIA.
