Default Obsolete half shafts

So I’ve been looking around for a set of rear half shafts on my c5 2.8Q a6 and it wasn’t going well. $641 a piece for remaned ones from ECS and Raxles quoted me $310 a piece for what they claimed was oem. Decided to call local Audi dealer and they told me “the factory cv axles are obsolete and your best bet is aftermarket or to call a junkyard”, so does anyone have knowledge on aftermarket? I know the 2.8 doesn’t have much in the way of aftermarket or performance but the uncertainty of junkyard/eBay isn’t acceptable and $310 seems a bit steep. Thanks in advance guys.
ps:be gentle on the feedback, relatively new to this whole subject.

Why not just buy used? Your A6 is the first one I've ever heard of that required any work to the rear drive shafts.

Dealership said the same thing. I’m just skeptical of the “used” condition. The local salvage has multiple c5s I can pick at but I don’t know how others treated their car and I’m not too fond of just hanging on the side of the road.

Since the rears don't articulate (steer) there should be little wear to the components so used shouldn't be an issue. An inspection should suffice for determining condition. If the boots look bad, lube the joints and install new boots before installing.
