Oil consumption

I have two 2.7T's...
One uses/loses none (very little) and is @ 96k miles.
The other uses/loses 1qt every 3-4k miles and is @ 83k miles. But this one is leaking oil pretty bad at the pass. cam adjuster at the moment. Thanks a lot for reminding me

My '01 isn't burning any at 66k...however...
When I first bought it (used at 55k), it did weep a little oil. It was coming from the rear cam seal on the passenger side. Since I was planning to pull the motor anyway to install K04 turbos, I didn't bother fixing it. On my last oil change, I switched it to Mobil1 5W-40 "Truck & SUV formula) and after a few thousand miles, the leak just stopped. Wierd.
Otherwise, it's dry as a bone. No .leaking/weeping anywhere else in the drivetrain (surprising on a 5 year old car with 66k miles).
Cheers,

Re: Oil consumption
Hmmm.....95k miles on a 2000 A6 2.4 and I seem to be getting throug 1ltr of oil for every 1000miles.
I'm pretty sure I have a leak but garage says that although 1-Ltr seems high he'd expect an A6 to use about a l-Ltr every 2k miles - Ownwe manual seems to back this up.
I can smell burnt oil after a long run hence why I'm pretty sure I have a leak - I just dont have a ramp/pit where I can get access to the belly plate to remove/check.
