Only 2 weeks left until I get to pick up my A6 from the impound, more...

There are quite a few state where 25+ gets you a night in jail. 27 over on a suspended?
What else could you really expect?
30 day mandatory impound seems a bit over the top, but I'd guess that is due directly to your license status.

When did you put on your diamond Paracaidista2.7T? Yes, Top knows about this, and
everythings fine on that front, it's our CO that thinks it needs to be handled by UCMJ. My 1SG takes everything on a case-by-case basis, and the fact that I was doing the right thing and giving a battle a sober ride home weighs heavier than the Traffic court offense. The fact that I will have to pay nearly $2k before i even step into a courtroom says alot about punishment being served as well. I've never been in trouble with her before and achieved over 100% Retention mission by mid-July. I am on orders to Korea, and she is helping to push me out the door before the CO can pull some Hudini crap. So my NCO Support Channel is doing the right thing to take care of me, the "COC" is trying to lead by UCMJ. If you wouldnt see it the same as my 1SG has then maybe I am lucky your not my 1SG. You put in your safety brief not to drive 82 in a 55 with a suspended license? Thats crazy, or do you mean not to speed? But maybe you didnt read that I didnt know it was suspended, it was suspended in 2005 in the State of VA before I deployed, Im in MD, so when I got back my VA driving priviledge was really the last thing on my mind. I once had a 1SG bring a carpet knife to a safety brief, and tell us in San Antonio it is used as a deadly weapon, that night I was slashed 5 times by a teenage gangbanger. Since then I've taken the advise of my Senior NCOs very seriously, every now and then we get lucky and get assigned one that actually wants to take care of soldiers and not their own career.

Been in a 1SG slot for about 3mos now. I get that you were driving a buddy home, but
you must agree that there was a failure in the decision making process. I address the driving without a license issue specifically (had a situation and added it to the brief). If such an instace were to arrive it would become an Art. 91 violation. Keep in mind that we recommend and commanders adjudicate, but the outcome is not meant to be pre-ordained. Each is to be heard and dealt with on a case by case basis, based on mitigating factors, amongst other things. Your chain of command will have to make that call. I was just bringing to light that if you violated a directive that was issued in a safety brief, it would compound the situation. Good luck, and I hope you learned something.
