Default Performance chip questions

I appreciate that fitting a performance chip is going to invalidate the warranty on the engine and turbos, but what is AOAs policy on the rest of the car?

Would they refuse warranty on other parts of the car that wore out? For example wheel bearings, manual transmission etc?

Thinking of the GIAC S or APR chips.

Default Anyone any experience of this happening?

Lets say I have a chip and go to the dealer for a bad wheel bearing... will they check and deny coverage?

Default Depends on the dealer and your relationship with the Service Advisor...

Some dealer can be very difficult, others very easy to work with. Check with local Audi Club members to identify a good dealer and Service Advisor. A good relationship with a Service Advisor can make all the difference. Once you find someone, take care of them and they'll take care of you.

Sorry, there is no definitive answer to your question

Default It is all up to the dealer. I have seen posts from both ends of the spectrum so get to know your

dealer.

Default Haven't you had a lot of issues with your car to date? Is it wise to muddy

the waters with a performance upgrade before the warranty is done, if you end up with another round of problems?

Default Wise, definitely not! But I'm getting bored, and

if I end up needing a pair of K04s at an independant shop, so be it!

Default I would be very concerned about AOA's attitude.

Audi is none to great about warranty work in general so I would be very worried about what they would do if the car was chipped.
