Wow, your car looks great. I love those wheels and that ride height - very nice.

Default I thought many of us already had a 605 switch mod?...

Here is the link to the FAQ, which includes a wiring diagram of the 605.

Basically it is just a tap into the wire harness of the 605. Very easy to do (I'm an accountant). I put my switch in the top side of the map holder slot under the steering wheel column.

http://users.ev1.net/~rscsaab/audi/relay%20605%20FAQ.htm</a

You may be right, thus requiring a relay for this switch to work.

This thread presented one in which the module was modified, not the harness. Only difference.

Got it. Why would you want to modify the module? Seems more risky & complicated.

Default Two reasons. One, if you screw up, you just replace the module, not a wiring harness...

And, two, it may be easier to do. My harness had almost no slack. I'd rather work on a benchtop than on my back upside down.

I suppose it is also replaceable if warranty fears arise. Plug-n-play.

No need for you or anyone to change methods, just an alternative.

Me, I like my 628 as it is. Plus, I think it is more important to be used to a steering feel than for it to be firmer or stiffer. If one switches back and forth for different driving conditions (aggressive vs cruising), I'm not sure that is good. Of course, switching for the spouse makes great sense.
