Dont forget to figure vacation time off your commuting mileage, and include both ways. (There are 52 weeks in a year, duh) If I were to drive my C5 to work every day (I live 7mi.'s from the office) - 2weeks vacation, I would put on 3,500 commuting miles per year. Obviously this is a low number, so I dont feel bad about using her as my daily driver. Some may be surprised at the mileage they are putting on, and consider buying a cheap used/reliable 4banger for the laps to work.

Not me, but wife: 100 miles round trip, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year.
She may miss a day here and there, but she also uses the car to attend meetings off site and to attend at least one annual meeting out of state. I figure 25k commuting miles is about right.
She does another 5k+ in personal miles, a low number since I generally drive my car(s) on the weekend.
My miles are the opposite. I probably do 25k per year, but my commute is 16 miles round trip. I often go home at lunchtime though, but I'd consider that personal miles since it really isn't part of the commute deal and it certainly isn't necessary.

12.4/day, 2976/yr, but that's if I only go home-office-home...
I drive a lot for work, and get reimbursed per mile...which helps a lot for my ~25k/year average in the past 3 years.

Absolutely. I attribute the long, trouble free live of the wife's ride to her style of driving....
...and long commute.
Ideally for the car, it should be brought up to full operating temp (30 minutes) each time it is started.
