Mine heat up pretty fast, so my guess is that something might be wrong with yours

i think on the earlier A6 models they take longer to heat up.

Mine's a bit slow. Fix: Look out the side window & punch it - won't matter what's back there.

Slow. After 10-12 minutes (ride to work), an 1/8" is clear on each side of the wires.
Not enough to see clearly.
