Default rear window switches no worky ('01 2.7T)

Playing chauffeur last weekend to the in-laws. Me driving wife's A6 w/wife in back w/mom. Neither one could open their window. Window lock switch was not engaged. Tried it multiple times in both positions just to be sure. Windows operable from driver's seat (which seems to rule out fuse or motor) and front passenger window works fine.

Anyone experience this and have any ideas?

Thanks,

Bill

P.S. Of course, warranty expired 8K miles ago :^(

I know you mentioned this, but it still may be the master switch. Mine did the same thing, because it sticks halfway. Hold the master switch down and then have someone in back give it a try.

Default There was a recall on windows (don't know the years involved). Had one switch burn out and one

window motor. Both replaced under warranty.

Default It's a surprisingly common problem

On my 02 S6 and my friend's 00 2.7T, the rear switches only work when the driver holds down the window lockout switch.

Holding the switch worked. Now I need to fix the switch or bypass it. Thanks again!
