Repairing window chip

Repairing window chip
While driving on the freeway - a rock bounced up and chipped my windshield (lower-left toward dash, driver side).
There is a tiny pinhole - but the chip is inside the glass; you can't feel it on the inside or outside. The chip is round - diameter smaller than a dime.
Is this worth fixing? If yes - any recommendations in the SF Bay Area?

Many threads about this recently. First contact your insurance....
... because they often fix chips for free, before they become a crack which would require an expensive windshield replacement. My insurance waives the deductible to incentivize people to use this service.
And, yes, it may well grow, perhaps as soon as tomorrow! Heat cycles can cause it to grow, and perhaps ordinary driving forces which can twist and stress the glass.
You can also try to repair it yourself, using store-bought kits. But we warned... I tried to fix a short crack, using the kit's directions which stated to apply a slight pressure inside the window so that the crack will imperceptibly widen and allow the fluid to enter. But, as I did this, the tiny crack grew into a huge one.

Re: Repairing window chip
I got one of those dime-sized hickeys this morning from a flying stone on the freeway. Called my insurer, USAA. They source this service to Safelite Auto-Glass, and chips are repaired via mobile service. The deductible is waived, in other words it's free. Cool! They'll be at my workplace Monday. Anyone have any experience/pointers/warnings about this kind of repair? Sounds like a good deal to me..
