Robert Gedeon - thanks for another DYI Instruction post
I used your instructions on replacing the air filter on the 2.7t. Your instructions on the H-Sport installation were excellent, and the filter change instructions were excellent as well....thanks for your effort and attention to detail.....you really made the job clear cut.
Following Robert's instructions (It's a little early here, so I substituted a few large Dunkin' Donut coffees for the Miller High Life) I had no issues disconnecting everything. During the operation, I discovered that the air filter holder was full of leaves. It appears that the clip that holds the air intake was on backward (i.e. the "clip" part was inside the male end of the hose) so it wasn't sealing properly. I flipped that around so it would mate properly and latch. Only one coat hanger was sacrificed to reattach the rear clip near the firewall...I don't know how you would do it without this "tool"
So, obviously I changed the air filter today, I also got the cabin filter replaced, double checked the air pressure on the M3's and replaced all the missing belly pan clips. Took a few moments to download the VAG-COM software from Ross-Tech to go with the VAG-COM cable I picked up from Red2.7t. I'm running it off a desktop in the garage...if anybody has a lead on a cheap slow laptop with a serial port...I'm looking
Started the Ming Monster up, backed it off the Rhino Ramps, and took a quick run around the block.....no CEL lights! It's a banner day off!
So...numerous thanks here...
- Robert Gedeon - great instructions
- Red2.7t - thanks for the VAG-COM cable
- Bac2h - thanks for the www.germanfilters.com tip...prices are great

I personally Like these
I'm still trying to find a lot of them to fix up and sell to other AW members on the cheap.

Thanks for the link to the Air Filter DIY post... I'll try it next time, last time I ended
up removing the entire box to be able to fasten that back clip.

No day off for me either. Since I am working from home I did fix my daughters A4 sunroof
Stupid thing brok ethe famous (infamous?) plastic guides. I got it closed after an hour of fiddling with it and put a piece of tape over the control.

I just picked one up for $142 + shipping, now need DVD drive & more RAM.
850 mhz, 20g HDD, 256mb RAM
They are all over ebay, I went with one loaded w/ XP. There is a users forum on Yahoo, as these have their own quirks (like Audis). Need other owners input on which RAM will work and how to connect Wifi to built-in external antenna.

hmm, depending on how they have the ram in there, I may have some
I own 2, one died about a week after I got it(I think it's just a short in the LCD wiring), the other is going strong, if you have an open RAM slot I have some 128M chips that I'll give you.
