I have a couple cans of 3M Scotchguard, and it says it can be used in the car. Should I try this stuff to protect my floor from winter goo? Use it on the mats maybe?

Be sure to take the mats out of the car to do it. Scotchguard leaves a residue on hard surfaces.

I have, Audiablo.. my interior is melange... it seems to help, although after 13 months of ownership the mats don't look brand new anymore! Have you thought about the rubber mats for winter? I've been thinking it might be a good idea. But the Scotchguard seems to have helped repel the worst stuff.

I bought the winter mats (they called the color "Clay" - our interior is Melange) from Clair Parts. They are a nice touch, and are deep enough to trap all the messy glop we've been experiencing here in Chicago - I'd recommend them.
