Simple fix for a bad rattle
You know the feeling: something like rage. A 'grrt' sound when you cross freeway lane markers. A resonant 'brrrr' at certain speeds but only sometimes. You blame the cell phone, the coins, the stuff in the glove compartment, your wife. Searching for the cause becomes a habit: your free arm is a rattle detective as you drive, but nothing stops the 'grrt, grrt'. You swear murder. The rattle does not stop.
But one day, reaching over...
OK, enough with the story line. The passenger's seat vertical adjustment **** was the culprit. For a small plastic thingy it sure did make a (maddeningly intermittent) racket. It pops off easily at the pivot point, and a sliver of tape is all it takes to tighten the plastic-to-plastic connection.
As LMGotts says, you wouldn't BELIEVE how much faster the car goes now.
