Has anyone tried to alter their solar sunroof to enable the shade to be used? (I thought I posted this earlier, but can't seem to find it.

I have the solar sunroof, which renders the sunshade unusable. I wonder if anyone has tried to rework the shade so that it can be used as a moonroof again.

I don't think it's not possible. The solar cell probably has some wiring to the shade which forces them to move together.

I do not think that the solar cells are transparent - thus even if you pulled it back you'd see nada

The inside side of the sunroof is Alcantara too.

Oh well. Anyone ever convert back to the standard moonroof? That photo of the Avant looks like a 1/43 model. INteresting.

I have mixed feelings about the solar sunroof...I kinda like/miss the clear glass!

Same here. It is nice not to get into a melting car during our recent heat wave, but I definitely miss the clear glass, and would not have sought our a car with a solar roof specifically, it just kinda happened that way. I've got 30% tinted windows, so I'm not really sure which is a more significant factor, but it is sure nicer to get into at the end of the day than my Saab, which has a tan cloth interior instead of the A6's black leather.
